12:30pm to 3 pm: FLASHBACK BAND

3:30 to 7:30 pm:
STEVE BASSETT, AMMON THARPE
& THE MYSTIC SOUL BUBBAS

STAGE 1:

The main stage at the Prince Street and Water Lane intersection will feature two top of the line bands from the East Coast music scene, performing for the second time at RivahFest. These bands have a long tradition of high quality performances and the RivahFest Entertainment Committee is proud to bring to the Festival name bands that are popular with the majority of our audience.“Whatever you like to listen to, we’ve got it,” said George Longest. “There’s something for everyone--country, gospel, bluegrass, rock and soul.” This year's lineup represents "the best artists and best musicians we have ever had at Tappahannock RivahFest!" according to Tom Bradshaw, Stage 1 Director and Steering Committe member.

From 3:30 until 7 p.m., the main stage will be rocking and grooving to the sounds of the the famed Steve Bassett, Ammon Tharpe with the Mystic Soul Bubbas from Richmond. Steve Bassett is the legendary southern rock and roll/blue eyed soul singer/songwriter, Hammond B-3 player, and independent recording artist. His accomplishments include being the co-author of "Sweet Virginia Breeze", southern soul music chart-topper.

"Steve Bassett's musical style is a synthesis of America's root music; blues, r&b, gospel, and rock & roll. Not only does Steve have a true feeling for the blues, he is a master of the gospel idiom, and in this combination of talents he is just about unique in music. He is a singer's singer and he communicates with his audience in a soulful front porch manner that crosses markets and generations and leaves his listener feeling like he has sung to them alone."
- John Hammond, Sr. -

12:30pm to 3 pm: FLASHBACK BAND

From Noon until 3 p.m. Flashback will start the RivahFest entertainment in style. Flashback has been performing continuously since the 80's for outdoor festivals, receptions, private parties, country club events, charity fund raisers, award banquets, pool parties, class reunions, and just about every kind of event where class and professionalism are desired by clients. "Fun, Professional, Variety, Great Vocals, Great to Work With...... after going to see 4 other bands perform, we chose Flashback because the band is 'spontaneous'; it was evident when we came out to see the band that all of the musicians were having fun!"

Flashback consists of 9 musicians that perform without the use of "sequencing" or pre-taped supplemental music. They are all former professional musicians, and all mostly self-employed in a wide variety of careers with one goal in common - a passion for performing their music with a high degree of professionalism, and to have fun. With a 4 piece horn section and 8 out of 9 members singing lead and backup vocals, Flashback can offers a wide variety of music for RivahFest!

Flashback performs the music you grew up with and like to "sing along to" with high energy and 100% live dance music. The main focus is to make sure everyone has a good time, whether it involves audience participation on stage or doing requests.
