The RivahFest Rubber Duck Race
At start time, some 2,000 individually numbered yellow rubber ducks will be tipped into the Rappahannock River to start the first RivahFest Rubber Duck Race. Depending on wind and tide, the pack will disperse and a leader will emerge. Waiting at the finish line, several boats will snag the first three ducks out of the water and pass these to the Race Controller who will announce the winners.

First prize will be a cash prize of $1,000, second place for cash of $500, and third place is $250 cash. Special value prizes will be given for Fourth and subsequent places depending on gifts received from Sponsors.

Proceeds from the RivahFest Rappahannock River Rubber Duck Race are shared by the Essex County Little League, the Tappahannock Free Clinic and the RivahFest Community Grants (read more about the Grants program) program for support of deserving projects in our local community.

Rubber Duckies are $3 each with discounts for Duck Packs as follows:
The Quack Pack - 2 ducks for $5
The Waddle Pack - 5 ducks for $10
The Grand Pack - 12 ducks for $20
When you buy Rubber Ducks online you will asked which of the above three projects you wish to support - a share of your ticket purchase will be allocated to your project of choice. After making your duck adoption, you will receive an email with the Rubber Duck race numbers - keep this securely and bring it with you to the race or be prepared to show it to claim your prize.
