RivahFest Taste of Tappahannock

Popular local musicians as well as top regional and national artists will headline this year’s RivahFest on June 18, Entertainment Chairs George and Sandy Longest announced.
“Whatever you like to listen to, we’ve got it,” said George Longest. “There’s something for everyone--country, gospel, bluegrass, rock and soul.” And don't miss the highly successful RivahFest Idol Competition on Stage 2 at St. Margaret's - the winners perform on main stage at 5:30pm.
The main stage on the corner of Prince Street and Water Lane will feature Janet Martin Band - One of Richmond, Virginia's favorite hometown hitters, The Janet Martin Band plays the best of rock, country and zydeco with the best of them. A captivating performer, Martin and her band belt out a mix of mostly original tunes with a few covers thrown in as well. www.janetmartin.com/ from noon until 3:00 p.m. From 3:30 until 7 p.m., the main stage will be rocking and grooving to the sounds of the the famed Steve Bassett, Ammon Tharpe with the Mystic Soul Bubbas from Richmond. Steve Bassett is the legendary southern rock and roll/blue eyed soul singer/songwriter, Hammond B-3 player, and independent recording artist. His accomplishments include being the co-author of "Sweet Virginia Breeze", southern soul music chart-topper.
At 11:00 a.m. the Miss Flame Contest will kick off on Stage 2 in front of St. Margaret's Hall. Richardson said the Fire Department is still accepting participants for the the Miss Flame contest. Young ladies ages 15-20 who live in the following counties: Essex, King & Queen, Middlesex, Northumberland, Richmond or Westmoreland are eligible to enter.
At 2:00 pm the RivahFest Idol contest, hosted by Paul Beith will kick off with the ten finalist selected from an earlier semi-final competition at Riverside Health Center. The RivahFest Idol winner will perform their winning performance on the main stage at 5:30 pm during the Steve Bassett band break.

Smooth and satisfying our Chardonnay is a result of blending traditional oak barrel aging and slowly fermented steel tank processing. The result is a full-bodied wine offering a great mix of fruit and oak complexity.
Cabernet Franc - A Bordeaux style red wine with unique varietal characteristics. Soft and supple with chocolate and leather notes and fruity with blackberry and currant flavors. The complexity and structure is bound to intrigue.
Merlot - A hearty red wine with a wonderfully complex structure. Fruit flavors of blackberry, cherry and hints of blueberry are sure to satisfy the most discriminating palate. Smooth and pleasing our Merlot is great to savor with strong flavored food or may be enjoyed by itself.
